Falmouth is Jamaica's busiest cruise port, and for passengers on a short call, the preserved Georgian-era town center - Water Square, the Falmouth Courthouse, the surrounding colonial-era buildings - plus duty-free shopping at the port itself can fill a couple of hours on its own. But the more memorable things to do in Falmouth sit just outside town, and most are bookable in advance through Falmouth-area providers.

Martha Brae and the Green Grotto Caves

Martha Brae bamboo rafting is one of the closest bookable excursions to the port, a roughly hour-long float on the river. The Green Grotto Caves, a limestone cave system with an underground lake, is a similarly short drive in the other direction, near Runaway Bay.

The Luminous Lagoon, after dark

The Luminous Lagoon Night Boat Tour is Falmouth's most distinctive attraction, but it runs at night - which means it generally doesn't fit a same-day cruise call. It's better suited to travelers staying overnight in the area, including those based a short drive away in Montego Bay.
